Dr. Atul Malikram Honored with the ‘Bharatiya Padma Vibhushan Samman 2026-27’

New Delhi/Bhopal: Political strategist, author, and social activist Dr. Atul Malikram has been honored with the ‘Bharatiya Padma Vibhushan Samman 2026-27’ in New Delhi. The award, presented by the World Culture and Environment Protection Commission, recognizes his work in social causes, public service, and driving positive societal change. He received this honor for his contributions across various sectors, including society, education, literature, health, social welfare, environmental conservation, entrepreneurship, and nation-building. Upon receiving the award, Dr. Malikram expressed a sense of pride and gratitude, stating that the honor further strengthens his resolve to work towards social causes, public service, and making a positive contribution to society.

Dr. Malikram said, “This honor is not merely a personal achievement for me; it is a recognition of the social causes and public service efforts with which I have long been associated. Positive change in society comes not only from large-scale campaigns but also from reaching out to the needy, guiding the youth in the right direction, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment, and engaging in continuous dialogue on social issues. My endeavor has always been to highlight—through my writing, political strategy, and social work—issues that require serious attention. This award inspires me to continue working for society and the environment with even greater responsibility and commitment. I dedicate this honor to all my associates, well-wishers, and everyone who has supported me on this journey of social service.”

Notably, alongside his active role in political strategy, Dr. Malikram is deeply involved in writing about social issues and raising public awareness. For a long time, he has been voicing his views on public platforms regarding subjects such as sustainable development, education, hunger, health, the environment, and social equality. His social sector efforts include establishing day-care centers for senior citizens, providing branding support to street vendors and cobblers through the ‘Meri Pehchan’ campaign, and organizing initiatives to provide food and water for voiceless birds and animals. The books he has authored—such as Dil Se, Dil Zara, Dil Vil, and My Dil Goes—focus on issues like poverty, hunger, education, the prison system, and social development.

Through the ‘2030KaBharat’ campaign, launched by Dr. Malikram, various social initiatives are being undertaken in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Zero Hunger, Quality Education and Clean Energy. The campaign also encompasses areas like teacher training, support for underprivileged communities, and social rehabilitation. He has also been active in the fields of environmental conservation and sustainable development; notably, in February 2026, he completed a technical workshop on carbon foot printing and GHG accounting organized by Bureau Veritas Certification.
